D Mixing and Cabibbo Suppressed Decays

چکیده

The CLEO collaboration reported observation of the ‘wrong sign’ decay D → Kπ in 1993. Upgrades have been made to the CLEO detector , including installation of a silicon vertex detector, which provide substantial improvements in sensitivity to D→Kπ. The vertex detector enables the reconstruction of the proper lifetime of the D, and so provides sensitivity to D−D mixing. We will give preliminary results on the rate of ‘wrong sign’ decay and D−D mixing using data from the 9.1 fb of integrated luminosity that has been accumulated with the upgrades in place. In addition, we will give sensitivity estimates of on-shell D−D mixing derived from measurement of the lifetime measured with decays of the D to CP eigenstates such as KK, ππ, and KSφ.

Unsolved Problems in Hadronic Charm Decay

This paper describes several outstanding problems in the study of hadronic decays of charmed mesons where further experimental work and theoretical understanding is needed. Four topics are stressed: doubly Cabibbo suppressed decays (DCSD) of Df mesons, hadronic D, decays, weak hadronic quasi-two-body decays to pairs of vector mesons, and penguin decays of D mesons. Doubly Cabibbo Suppressed D+ ...

Measuring D 0 – D 0 Mixing and Relative Strong Phases at a Charm Factory 1

We propose a set of measurements at a charm factory to determine the D–D 0 mixing parameters ∆M and ∆Γ and the strong phase difference δ between doubly-Cabibbo-suppressed (DCS) and Cabibbo-favored (CF) neutral D decays into Kπ. The method can also be used to measure strong phase differences between other corresponding DCS and CF amplitudes. These phase differences are important for studies of D...

Phenomenology of Neutral D−meson Decays and Double-Flavor Oscillations

Decays of neutral D-mesons are considered phenomenologically without invoking any particular models. Special attention is given to cascade decays with intermediate neutral kaons where coherent double-flavor oscillations (CDFO) become possible. We show necessity and unique possibilities of experiments on CDFO. They allow to relate with each other widths and masses of D-meson eigenstates, to sepa...

Mixing in the D-D system at BABAR

We report a preliminary result for D-D mixing and the doubly Cabibbo suppressed decay rate RD based on an analysis of D 0 → Kπ decays from 57.1 fb of data collected at or just below the Υ (4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II collider. We set 95% confidence limits for the mixing parameters x 2 and y and find that our result is compatible with no mixing and no CP violation. In the...
